For a long time, we have been flooded with images of suffering wildlife and habitats.

However, if there’s one thing that is universal, it’s the desire to laugh. The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards was born from the need for a wildlife photography competition that was light-hearted and that uses humor as a tool to talk about conservation.

It is a free competition, launched in 2015, by professional photographers Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam.

It is open to all wildlife photography experts and novices as long as they capture the hilarity of nature and brings a smile to everyone’s face.

They have 5 categories - Creatures of the Land, The Spectrum Creatures in the Air Category, The ThinkTank Photo Junior Category, The Amazing Internet Portfolio Category, The Underwater Category, and The Video Clip Category

This time, the hilarious finalist photos in the competition have playful otters to laughing snakes, dancing monkeys, and perturbed birds.

Every year, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards support a different charity and this time it is the Gunung Palung Orangutan Project, a movement to protect wild orangutans.

SAVE THE DATE - October 22nd: The 2021 winners will be announced.
