The food we eat today is assumed to be highly nutritious but there are a number of chemicals that go into cultivating our food. In recent times, people have understood the importance of eating organic, leading to the popularity of organic products like vegetables, spices, etc.

So what exactly is “organic farming”?

The terminology “organic” refers to how different foods are processed as well as grown before they enter the consumer market. Organic farming in simple terms is a kind of agricultural practice where harmful chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides are not used, and instead it relies upon crop rotations, animal manures, off‐farm organic waste etc to proliferate cultivation.

Consumers are becoming highly conscious about their health and more people are opting for organic food because many people today believe that if you are exposed to less synthetic pesticides and herbicides, there’s also the opportunity to save money for future costs for health care.

People now want to consume food that is healthier and tastier but also ensuring that the food is better for the environment in the long term. Besides health benefits, organically grown foods avoid pollution of the soil, water sources and water table.

Organic farmers are true life-savers who work hard to grow healthy and nutritious crops. The government should definitely help farmers financially to propagate organic farming that will help save our agro-ecosystem and enhance the total biodiversity.

So if you’d like to think good, think organic!
