‘Hawaaon mein rahengi mere khyalon ki bijlian, ye musht-e-khak hai fani, rahe rahe, na rahe’ (Translation: physical existence does not matter, the life will be finished, but my ideas will remain forever).

Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Museum and Memorial was inaugurated on March 23, 2018. The museum stands in Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village, Khatkar Kalan, which is 55 Kms from Jalandhar and 100 Kms from Chandigarh.
There are many fascinating paraphernalia connected to martyr Bhagat Singh that can be witnessed once you are at the museum starting from photographs, a copy of Bhagwat Gita with Bhagat Singh’s autograph, a copy of the Lahore conspiracy case judgment, his handwritten notes and many other belongings.
The museum encompasses 10 galleries — Operational Gallery, Punjab Timeline Gallery, Family Tree, Rise of Revolutionaries, Magic Lantern, Assembly Bombing, Poster Gallery, Jail Gallery, Children Gallery, and Execution Gallery.
There are many wonderful attractions, for example, visitors can listen to a six-minute interview of Bhagat Singh’s mother that was broadcast in the ’60s, where she talks about his life. You can also watch the valiant actions of Bhagat Singh when he threw the pamphlets, which was then followed by the bombing of the Assembly. The gallery also shows the execution of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev in a dark room, which is controlled through a remote device.
This monument is a perfect tribute to the great hero as it enables visitors to take a closer look at Bhagat Singh’s possessions under one roof.
